Janne Kyttanen

NEXA

Early in 2018 Janne was approached by the founders from Nexa 3D to work on an exciting project for the company. Nexa is a start-up making ultra-fast industrial grade Sterolithography 3D printers affordable to professionals and businesses of all sizes. The company’s printers are powered by proprietary Lubricant Sublayer Photo-curing (LSPc) Technology and patented structured light matrix capable of reaching top speed of 1 cm per minute, drastically reducing 3D printing cycles of precision functional parts from hours to minutes.

Janne was asked to create the design of their first commercial 3D printer which would initiate the brand identity for the company. Janne was given 4 parameters in which the design must adhere (1) aesthetic and ergonomic design (2) able to withstand several full builds per day (3) operate with one hand (4) innovative cleaning stations and UV chambers.

This new 3D printer was launched during Formnext 2018 and even though by now we have seen multiple high speed photopolymer based 3D printers entering the market, Nexa 3D possesses 2 key elements, which are new to the market. Due to advanced and scalable manufacturing capabilities, Nexa 3D is able to cut its machine manufacturing prices in half and whilst boasting the largest build platform in the category, its simply the fastest and cheapest midrange 3D printer on the market.
